i’m walking away from @openjarinstitute with a sore body, full heart, and renewed passion for what i love to do. thank you to all who made this week what it was, especially @jeffwhitingnyc for pouring into aspiring theatre professionals like me! so so much love for my new open jar family! 🫙❤️

my testimony:
going into this week, i truly didn’t know what to expect. i was filled with nerves and anxiety. i was afraid i wasn’t “ready” or “old enough” to be a youth leader. along with this, many of you know that i’ve been battling POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). over the last several months, i haven’t been able to stand for more than a few minutes at a time, bend down, stand up, run, dance, etc. without feeling lightheaded. i knew that God could do miracles, but i had kind of accepted that for the rest of my life, i would always be one move away from passing out.
before leaving for camp, i prayed. i prayed that i would be able to praise God with a fully restored heart. i prayed that i would be able to stand and lay hands on students without limitations. i prayed that i could be healed in order to “make it through camp.” i had the faith the size of a mustard seed and was only believing for “enough” healing to function at a basic level for camp.
from the minute i stepped onto the bus at the beginning of the week till now, i have not experienced ONE symptom of POTS. God not only allowed me to “make it through camp,” but He restored my health to the fullest. i was able to dance until my feet were sore. i was able to stand and pray over students without ceasing. i had more energy than ever before despite only running on a few hours of sleep. i had only asked for a small dose of healing as i headed into camp, but God said, “why would i only heal you partially when i have the power to fully restore your heart?” i didn’t even realize the extent of my POTS symptoms until i was freed from them. i didn’t realize that i actually could feel so alive. the evidence of God’s goodness and compassion has just been clear.
my faith has reached new heights. God is so kind. i am overflowing with gratitude for His love and His perfect plans. i am eternally grateful for @youth_co, @joshy.henry, @kaylachenry, @jessilong, my students, and the rest of the youthco leader team for making this a life-changing camp. i will never get over this week.
